The Citrus Festival in France

Have you ever eaten a raw lemon? I hadn’t, but during the festival I bought a whole one to eat while drinking a Coca-Cola. The sourness of the lemon tasted so yummy with the sweetness of the Coke. Initially, I was only going to buy a fresh orange, but the local vendor recommended I get a whole lemon as well, and I decided to try it with an open mind. This is something I never thought I would try, but I am so happy I did because it tasted great!

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

This tradition is deeply connected to the local environment of South France. Menton is right on the Mediterranean ocean where the sun allows citrus trees to thrive. The weather patterns make lemon and orange farming prosperous, which shapes not only their economy but also their community, culture, and festivals! I am so happy I got to explore Menton and the South of France. Feeling the Mediterranean sun beam on my skin while walking along the ocean and smiling with my friends was an experience I won’t forget.
