Gemma in Sweden

Introduction:

This is Gemma. She is my friend Isabelle's little sister. She is nine years old and in third grade.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I eat kalles kaviar on toast. Kalles kaviar is a fish paste. I also have yogurt with cereal. For lunch, I eat a lot of soup. Sometimes I have sandwiches. When I eat at school, we have a lot of carrots and mashed potatoes with fish. For dinner, I love boiled potatoes and tacos.

What is your house like?:

I live in a house on the fourth floor. 

What chores do you have at home?:

When it snows, I help my dad shovel it. I have to clean the dishes every night.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My dad is retired. My mom helps plan buildings for the city. She writes a lot of papers and reads a lot of emails.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

We speak Swedish and say hej for hello.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Elsa, Julia, Alice, Oscar, Lars and Anders

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

My favorite subjest is math. We also learn English, science, handcrafts, sports, Swedish, computer class, social studies and music.
