Garbage Disposal in Korea

Is this need being met? How?:

Yes, the community need is being met. The recycling system is generally divided into four categories.

General waste: Trash that can not be recycled, such as dirty tissues or paper.
Food waste: Pretty much anything an animal could eat, such as meat, leftovers, and fruit peels. Some exceptions are bones and shells. Most kitchens will have a small trash can for food waste.
Recycling: Everything that can be recycled, such as bottles, metal cans and paper. It is important that the materials are clean. For this reason, bottles and containers need to be completely rinsed, and any labels should be removed. At convenience stores or restaurants, the establishment will normally do that for you.
Bulky waste: This category is for large items like furniture. In this case, people need to buy a waste sticker and dispose of the item in a specific location. They might also have to hire moving services for a fee.

Trash in Korea cannot be disposed of in just any plastic bag. Food waste and general waste have specific types of trash bags that can be purchased at local convenience stores. These vary depending on the district, and all these specifications matter because incorrect sorting or disposal can result in heavy fines.
Different neighborhoods have trash pickup schedules separated by types of trash. Koreans may only dispose of certain categories of trash on the assigned days for those types of waste.

Do you experience anything similar at home as you recycle and deal with food waste?
