His mom runs a pharmacy that is connected to their house, and his dad transports cars from the U.S. His oldest brother is a medic (someone who provides emergency medical care), and his second-oldest brother is an industrial engineer (someone who works to improve products or systems). Eiby also has an older sister, and she is a licensed attorney (lawyer). He is the youngest of four. What jobs do your family members/guardians have?

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

"School starts at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m." Would you like to have a school schedule like this? It is common in Guatemala for students to attend school in the morning or afternoon so that the school can teach a larger number of students.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

“I walk by myself.” How do you all get to school each day?

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

"My mom gives me lunch at home before I leave for school. My favorite food is jocón, un plato típico (a typical Guatemalan dish). Jocón is a recado (sauce) with chicken and rice." Sounds delicious to me. I still need to try jocón! What is a plato típico in your home or from your culture?

“At school, I have English class, español (Spanish), and Mam (a Mayan language spoken in Guatemala).
