Hi guys! This is Eric reporting from Sydney. In this field note, I'm going to be discovering all sorts of transportation methods in Australia!
Most people in Sydney get around by using the public transportation system. Depending on where you live in the city, you can either hop on the bus or take the metro to the residential side of Australia. What's really cool here is the light rail. There are wires connected to the street posts, and the rail has special tracks on the road. It goes “ding ding!” when it’s coming, and you get to hop on and sit by the window while it zooms past cars and buildings. The metro (train) here is also convenient. There is no traffic and it's quick.
Very easy! I'm from New York City so I'm always used to taking the subway or buses. Learning the route is hard at first; but after a week of being here, I've grasped the ins and outs of the city. For me to get to classes, I normally take a bus for around 30 minutes. If I hop on the train, it typically takes around 15 minutes. Again, very convenient!
