All the signs that I've seen in Ghana have been in English as it is the official language. On top of many people speaking English, Ghanaians have over 80 languages that are spoken in the country. Some popular languages include Twi, Ga and Ewe.
Ghana’s currency is cedi (GH₵). There are 200, 100, 50, 20, ten, five, two and one cedi bills. They also have one, five, ten, 20 and 50 pesewas coins, as well as one and two cedi coins. For example, five pesewas coins make one cedi, just as four quarters make one dollar.
Water bottle costs vary depending on where you get them. If you get them out in the street, it can be five cedi. However, if you get the same water bottle at a restaurant, it can be as high as 30 cedi.
The best meal this week was tomato stew with rice, a side of salad and fish. It was lunch that was provided to us by our program.
