At the beginning of the week, I did not travel far because I was preparing for school. At the end of the week, I traveled to a new city in a new country: Dubai, UAE.
Since coming to Uganda in 2024, I have traveled around Uganda, outside of Uganda and even around Africa. In May 2025, I went to Europe for a couple of weeks. I visited France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. We saw the famous Keukenhof Gardens and tulips. In September 2025, my mom visited me in Uganda, then we went to Zanzibar. Zanzibar is an island off the coast of Tanzania.
I walked from my house to school at the beginning of the week. I also walked to the nearby duuka (shop) to get some vegetables and eggs. When I traveled to Dubai, I used an airplane. The flight was about five and a half hours from Uganda to Dubai.
The most interesting place I visited this week was Dubai. I visited gold souks (shops) and spice markets. I am learning a lot about the culture of Dubai and seeing many interesting buildings. Did you know the tallest building in the world is located in Dubai? The Burj Khalifa is 2,717 feet tall and is more than twice the size of the Empire State Building.
