She is my favorite artist! When I listen to her, I am reminded of my friends back home because they also like Taylor Swift. Music has been a way for me to feel connected to my friends and family back home.
My students came back to school this week! The school year in Uganda starts in February and ends in December. It follows the calendar year which is different from the American school year. I am happy to see my previous students from last year and meet new students who will be in my classes this year.
This week, I read some children’s books from the library at my school. Currently, I am creating a library for my school. We have been receiving new books and organizing old books to make a complete library space for all students to enjoy.
Soccer, known as football in Uganda, is the most popular sport. Uganda has a football team called the Ugandan Cranes, named after the national symbol, the crested crane. I enjoy playing football with my neighbors and watching the children in my village play with each other.
We just finished all the elections in Uganda. The president of Uganda was elected in January. The presidential election in Uganda happens every five years. Then, all the local elections finished in February.
