We are learning that the poetry and novels of Sir Walter Scott were highly influential in developing cultural perceptions of the Scottish Highlands as a mythical place full of magic, msytery and sublime natural beauty.
My friends and I have been loving to attend Blood on the Clocktower sessions in a local cafe. Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction murder mystery game. It is a great way to meet people local to Dumfries and also practice our sleuthing skills!
Scotland was hit by a really intense storm this weekend with 80mph wind gusts and dangerous flooding across the country. I am grateful that my residence remained more or less unscathed, but I stayed holed up in my room all weekend.
