My one-week countdown officially begins today. Honestly, I wish this entire essay could just be one giant sad-faced emoji. I still can’t fully put into words what this experience has meant to me. But I guess I have one last essay to try to do exactly that... and maybe also convince you that Copenhagen is the BEST place to study abroad. I would 100% do it all over again (minus the packing and sitting on my suitcase at the airport trying to zip it closed).

This article is a holistic reflection on my time in Copenhagen and what I hope to take with me into the future. To ironically quote the masterpiece that is the 2014 muscial, Annie (yes, the remake was better...), “You’re never fully dressed without a smile.” Best quote ever. Looking back on the last four months away from home, I realize how much mindset shaped my experience. Every day wasn’t perfect, and not everything was sunshine and rainbows all the time, but I was living in COPENHAGEN... wow. Even during the freezing winter months or the days I missed my family most, I tried to find the silver lining. Most of the time, it ended up being right in front of me. Studying abroad pushed me far outside of my comfort zone, but the people I surrounded myself with made the experience a million times better.
