How was the weather this week?:

It was incredibly hot this week. Every day was well over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. We are experiencing the end of the harmattan, which is a weather pattern in West Africa. During harmattan, winds from the desert blow toward the coast and bring dust and sand, and there is usually very little rain. It did rain a little this week, but only for about ten minutes at a time. When it rains, it pours very heavily for those few minutes. After that, the rest of the day becomes hot and very humid. I like when it rains because it usually cools things down, but the power often goes out when the storms come.

What animals did I see this week? :

I have seen a lot of birds this week, from beautiful red bellied birds to pigeons to large predator birds. I also have a lot of lizzards that live in my compund. The lizards are called rainbow agamas, they are black with brightly colored orange heads and orange tails.
