I present to you one of my 6ème (sixth grade) students. He asked that his name and face not be in the article but agreed to share about his life. 6ème is close to American fifth grade, and this young man is super bright and has a great life ahead of him. For this article I will write in the first person translated from French but will interject at times to add context.
For breakfast I drink tea and eat bread, for lunch I have rice and spicy sauce (pima) and for dinner I eat corn flour pâté with sauce.
I have a simple house, I live with my mom.
I sweep the room. I sweep the house. I wash the dishes. I help my mother.
My mom is a farmer. (60% - 65% of the population is in the agriculture sector.)
I come to school at 7am and I leave at noon. (They also have afternoon classes sometimes starting at 3pm.)
