I set up pick-up soccer with a few other people from my program. It was a lot of fun!
For the first two weeks of my program, I was focused on getting settled and grounded: focusing on schoolwork, sleep and light exploring. In week three, I leaned into the CIEE Study Abroad community, and that has rewarded me so much more than trying to explore on my own. The main lesson of this time is that it's important to have time alone to ground yourself, but that leaning into community, especially abroad, can truly enlighten the experience more than when you try to do it by yourself.
