Trying Different Cultural Cuisines in Germany

Introduction:

Berlin is a metropolitan city, home to people from all across the globe. Naturally, this means they bring their cultures, languages and food to the city. The first destination on my travel list in Germany, was Flensburg located in the Northern part of the country. There, I got to try authentic Ghanaian food. After coming to Berlin, I've made it a point to try food from different places with the people around me, discovering one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the process.

What food did I try?:

The first dish I had was a Ghanaian meal with kenkey, fried fish, sardines, tomato pepper stew and fried eggs. Kenkey is a traditional African dish eaten with your hands. It usually comes with some kind of stew and meat for protein and flavoring. It is made from fermented corn dough and wrapped in corn husks, which allows for the food to be preserved. It is in the same food family as fufu, which became popular recently through TikTok.

Another international dish I have had here in Germany is Thai green curry, which I had at a restaurant that sells multiple cultures of food. Included in the curry were carrots, rice, rich curry stew, pineapple, celery and sweet potatoes.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I've really enjoyed all the food I've had so far.
