What type of money is used here?:

The yen is Japan's currency, and it comes in both paper bills and metal coins.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs 120 yen, which is about 77 cents. Not bad!

What was the best meal this week?:

I went to an okonomiyaki (oh-koh-noh-mee-yah-kee) restaurant with my visiting friends! Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake made with cabbage, meat, and other vegetables, served with a sweet sauce and mayonnaise. It's delicious!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to a lot of Christmas music! Because Japan doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, the Christmas music starts to play right after Halloween!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I went on a tour of the Seiko timepiece museum in Ginza, which is a famous shopping district in Tokyo. There, we could see watches and clocks from days gone by. Many were very beautiful!

What did I read this week?:

I read a history book about how science became professional in Japan. I read a lot of history books for my research, but I like to read novels and comic books for fun too!
