Believe it or not, 80 F is considered a nice, cool day here! Earlier this week, it was 96 F! Right now, it's staring to cool down as rain starts to come in from Typhoon Fung-Wong. Overall, it has been an average week for weather.
Since I only stayed in Taichung, I didn't see anything too out of the norm. However, I did go with a friend who is studying zoology to visit some of the pigs, cows and chickens located on campus. It made me feel like I was back home in the Midwest!
I went to a mountaintop cafe earlier this week and I had a panoramic view of the whole city of Taichung as well as the surrounding mountains and forests. It was so beautiful and so green!
There is a typhoon coming through! You might be asking yourself: what exactly is a typhoon? Well, a typhoon is a tropical storm, just like a hurricane! Because of where I am in the world, they're called typhoons instead of hurricanes. A lot of people are preparing by going to the grocery store and buying microwave noodles and bottled water.
