For lunch, my colleagues and I, alongside some of the embassy officers met at a nearby restaurant. I was so excited to look at their menu, and I needed more coffee! I ended up ordering a black coffee and the most beautiful plate of chicken Kiev with mashed potatoes glazed with green spinach sauce! Just look at the beauty through the screen! (Please don't hate me too much, if I am making you hungry with all this!)
The first dinner, during my first evening in Bishek, Kyrgyzstan, my Fulbright colleagues and I met up at a Georgian restaurant. I had a popular Eastern European dinner called borsch which is a beet soup with veggies and meat. I love beets, and I grew up eating borsch. Because I was already missing home, I decided to get it so I could remeber my mother's cooking. The soup was indeed a dream because I finished it all, I even asked for another one! My colleagues got a khatchapuri (I'll let you do the homework and find out what this is) plus we all shared a mix of salads.
All in all, the trip was long, but all the cuisines that I was able to try, made the trip worth it. I go out to eat at least once a day, be it at a restaurant, or at a coffee shop. Food makes me happy, so I felt happy and excited whenever I would be given a plate of food! What about you? What would be something that would make a long flight worth the wait?
As I am writing this article, I am at an art cafe! There's art surrounding me and it makes me feel like I am a work of art too! I ordered some of my most favorite soup, since being in Central Asia - lentil soup with some crepes filled with ground meat! Super tasty.
