I may make it sound straightforward, but it is anything but. We are now drilling our fifth hole, and it is already mid-January.
We are also supported by an amazing network of contractors across the station. The galley crew takes on extra dishes and ensures we have meals delivered to the drill camp. Fleet Operations drags hoses and helps position buildings, even moving our tower by just one inch using massive equipment. Utilities keeps our buildings warm and our toilets functioning. SatCom engineers maintain our communications and keep our radios working.
I am deeply grateful to work alongside such an inspiring, intelligent, and creative group of people here at the South Pole.
