FEBO is a popular food chain here in Amsterdam where the food is kept in something comparable to a vending machine, but for hot food!! They have burgers, fries, sandwiches, and the Dutch classic Kroketten among many other items. Some locations are also open until 3 am, which is great for returning from a late night in the city!
Another very popular Amsterdam snack is frites (fries)! It is very common to eat these with mayonnaise as a topping. I used to dislike mayo, but over time, I have started to enjoy its taste as a dipping/topping.
I tried Kroketten, which is a deep-fried roll with meat ragout (basically a stew) and is covered in breadcrumbs. I tried the beef one, but there are many flavours such as veal, chicken, satay and shrimp, as well as some vegan options.
I am pictured eating some frites from a very popular Amsterdam touristy place called Fabet, which serve delicious fries...lines can be up to an hour or so long. One of the most common menu items is the fries with Parmesan cheese topping & truffle mayonnaise.
