of water for R15 (15 rand) which translates to $0.87. If you are at a resturant and would like a bottle of still water, they might charge you R25 or $1.45 for a 500ml / ~19.3 oz. bottle.
This week, my friend Karina and I visited an authentic Turkish restaurant called Saray, which means palace in Turkish. At the restaurant, I tried Turkish coffee and sac kavurma. Sac Kavurma is a traditional Turkish dish made with spicy beef cooked with peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms. It was served with rice and bread, and it was delicious! I have also been having fun in the kitchen, trying to cook my own food. It’s been a tasty adventure!
This week my most played songs were "Ordinary" by Alex Warren, "Position" by Franglish, "Nwayo Nwayo" by Phyno and "Maliba" by Moussa Mousskabira Traore.
This week, I went sandboarding and A.T.V. riding on the beautiful coastal dunes near Cape Town, and it was really exciting! Did you know these sand dunes are formed by nature’s forces working together? The wind, which scientists call "aeolian" processes, blows sand from the beach up above the highwater mark, while waves and tides move the sand along the shore, too. This natural movement of sand creates big, soft hills called dunes that change all the time as the strong winds and waves push and pull the sand, causing the dunes to grow, shrink or shift location.
