I traveled by airplane over 2.5 hours from Singapore to Bali for this experience! I never realized how close it was to Singapore, especially since Bali is so far from the United States and not as many people travel there.
The farthest place I've traveled while studying abroad is definitely Jeju, South Korea! I went there last week and the seafood was the freshest I've ever had, and the beaches had black rocks - something I've never seen before.
In Singapore, I usually get around with public transportation. However, in Bali, there is no public transportation available. So, we get around either through Grab (which is basically Uber, but based in Asia) or join a tour. It is more convenient to book day tours and have a private driver throughout the day, as it can be hard to find a ride in the mountains.
The most interesting place I visited this week is definitely the monkey forest in Bali. There must have been hundreds of monkeys there, and I even saw infants. Monkeys are all across the island but they are mainly concentrated in one forest where they are taken care of by employees to make sure that they are healthy.
