What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language is Malay, but English is often used in school and business.

What type of money is used here?:

The Malaysian Ringgit is used here. One U.S. dollar is about 4 Ringgit, so a meal that is 16 Ringgit is $4 dollars.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs roughly 15 ringgit ($3 - $4 dollars), but a meal also costs about that much. Eating at a restaurant costs about $6 per person and eating from the street food vendors costs about $2 - $3 per person.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal was Indian food: chicken tikka, dal with rice, naan bread, roasted vegetables in curry and roti (more bread). It was delicious and we ate with our hands, no forks or knives in the restaurant! 

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to street performers singing Bon Jovi, I heard Jonas Brothers playing in a nearby cafe and I listened to my Spotify for my daily dose of Taylor Swift. 

What activity was the most fun this week?:

We climbed to the Batu Caves which are giant caves that are now used as a Hindu temple. Over 270 stairs to the top are colorful and the inside of the caves are beautiful (photos attached).
