My name is Lizi Samushia. I'm 13 years old.
I live in Zugdidi, quite close to the city center. My house is very typical of my community. It's a two-story home with nine rooms. There is a living room, where everyone hangs out. Usually, though, I study in my bedroom. My home has two kitchens, which is a Georgian tradition. The second kitchen is in a small, separate building where we store potatoes, tomatoes and preserves. Like many Georgian homes, we have a garden where we grow potatoes and tomatoes. There's also an orange tree and two apple trees.
My family is very sweet and we spend a lot of time together. I live with my mother and father. My brother is 18, and he started studying at a university in the capital city, Tbilisi, this year. I miss him more than I thought I would! He came home for Christmas to visit. My grandparents on my mom's side live really close, so I see them often. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on my dad's side live in a nearby village called Lia. Our family has a hazelnut tree plantation there.
