Roommate Hour

Introduction:

My roommate is a native Finn who has been very helpful during my move and everyday life here. She gives me tips about Finnish life, like where to go food shopping, and also teaches me a lot about Finnish history and the language.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

Tampere, Finland, quite close to the city center. I live in a 2-bedroom shared student apartment.

What is your family like?:

I have a mom, stepdad, a big sister, dad, stepmom, two stepsisters and a stepbrother.

How do you get around?:

Generally, I use public transport, like a bus, or walk.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

At home, I like to wear very comfortable clothing, like sweats, fluffy socks, morning robes, etc. In public, I prefer Scandinavian "office casual" style like heeled boots, straight or wide pants (not jeans), t-shirts, polos, knits and wool coats in neutral colors such as white, black, grey and beige.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I like to watch Netflix, read both fiction and non-fiction (science books), take nature walks, go to the gym, sleep, eat with friends and drink coffee! Coffee is very important. On holidays, I like to travel within my financial limitations.
