I stayed in Rome, but I covered a lot of ground on foot!
Considering that I have traveled from the East Coast of the U.S. to Italy, Brussels, Athens, Poland and the Czech Republic, I’ve easily traveled more than 5,000 miles. That’s like flying coast to coast across the U.S. twice.
Mostly by walking and using the metro. Rome’s public transportation is solid once you get the hang of it, but it can be confusing at times, and there are occasional delays. If I’m feeling lazy, I’ll take a Lime scooter, which is fun but a little chaotic because you’re surrounded by fast cars and tight streets.
Definitely Trajan’s Market. Knowing it was the first shopping complex in the world makes it even cooler. You can picture people trading goods, haggling over prices, and living daily life in a space that still stands today. There is even a museum inside now, the Museum of Imperial Forums.
