What is it like to live in another country and travel the world? Professor Besim Agusaj shares his experiences living in Croatia, exploring different countries and meeting people from all over. His story shows how travel can open your mind and help you see life in a whole new way.
My name is Besim Agusaj.
I split my time between Croatia and Switzerland, living about half the year in each place. I was born in 1968 and grew up in Croatia. My home in Croatia is in a large house with six apartments, where people from all over Europe, the United States and Croatia come to stay. My wife and I stay in one of the apartments there. In Croatia, many people live in apartments instead of houses, and they are very comfortable places to live.
I have a wife and two sons, ages 30 and 23. They both went to Rochester Institute of Technology, the same school Breanna goes to, and the one I work at! When my kids were younger, we traveled a lot because I wanted them to learn about different cultures and meet people from around the world. Now that they are older, we see each other a few times a year. We are a close and simple family.
