Bienvenidos a Mi Viaje/Welcome to My Journey!

¡Hola¡ (Hello!) My name is Will Thomason, and I am currently living and working in Pasto, Colombia. I moved to Pasto on the  first day of August in 2022, filled with excitement for an adventure that has been and continues to be an incredible, life-enhancing experience. Pasto is the capital of the department of Nariño, which is known for its mountains, its beautiful architecture and its Andean culture. I live about an hour’s drive from the border of Ecuador, and I teach English at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia through the Fulbright ETA program. I also enjoy playing the keys in the Employee Band, swimming at the pool and playing fútbol (soccer) on the Professor/Administrator soccer team. I have been working with the local government to enhance access to education, which is something that I am passionate about and have worked on in the past as well.

I was born in Austin, Texas and raised in Cary, North Carolina, along with an older brother and a fraternal twin brother. I went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go, Heels!), which opened my eyes to the greater world around me.
