Meeting with you all the past few months has given me the chance to reminisce on when I was a student at WJ. I remember all the times I sat in different classes, asking to go to the bathroom only to walk to the photo room and work on a project instead. While I don't condone that practice, I'm hoping it symbolizes the long-term impact that photography had on me. I just couldn't get enough of it! Even today, I keep in touch with Mr. Kempner, and I bring a film camera on my adventures, trying to capture the essence of the places I visit. I'm hoping you stay in photo class and use the art of photography to show your audience specific aspects of the life you live. Photography is not just an art, it's a medium of expression. It's evidence. It's a resource. It's a pause button in time. The more capable you are in wielding a camera, the more you can rely on that tool in a world that increasingly demands creativity and attention. Keep taking pictures!
If you want to stay in touch, just ask Mr. Kempner. I'm happy to talk about the Peace Corps or traveling in general!
