During our three months together, I'm hoping that above anything I've inspired you to travel. The U.S. is only one corner of a world full of completely different cultures, practices and landscapes. Here in Eswatini, monkeys are as common as squirrels, cows are as common as deer and every student in the country gets rice and beans during lunch for free every day. I encourage you to find other unique traditions that countries in other parts of the world have to offer. The Peace Corps is a wonderful way to dive deep into a particular country while engaging in community service, but there are many other opportunities, such as studying abroad when you get to college, doing volunteer programs, the Fulbright Scholarship or even just vacationing.
I'm also hoping that I've inspired you with the power that you wield with a camera. Every time you take a picture, you have the chance to capture a piece of time that will never happen again. You also have the chance to give people an opinion of that moment. That is a lot of power, and I'm hoping you use it wisely and to its full potential. Remember to frame responsibly!
