A Walk Through the Valley of Flowers

The Valley of Flowers National Park is a high elevation valley in the foothills of the Himalayas known as a hotspot for diversity of flowering plants! Come explore it with me!

The elevation of the valley is too high for trees to grow, but the ferns love the moist soil in the valley

The Pushpavati is fed by several smaller streams of water coming from melting glaciers, or snow packs, in the summer

The valley is surrounded by several taller mountains, such as this snow capped mountain known as Elephant Peak

This moraine of glacial rocks at the end of the valley shows the power of ice and glacier to move rocks and debris down mountains and valleys
