The Wheels On The Bus Go All Around Italy!

They even have buses that travel all the way across the country, to places like Milan or Turin! I use their website or the signs at the bus stop to find the bus schedules.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

I really enjoy taking the bus! Sometimes on longer rides, I feel a little motion sick, but usually I’m alright. I ride the same bus everyday. It arrives at 7:23 am, and stops just a five minute walk from my house. If I tried to walk to school, it'd take three hours! Before and after school, the buses are usually full of people and students, but in the middle of the day and the evening it isn’t as crowded. I use a bus pass that works for my area, so it’s really easy to just hop on a bus and go see another town!

The bus is a nice way to connect with the community. I often talk to other people around me, and sometimes my students want to chat! The bus drivers are all very nice, the roads in Italy are very narrow and complicated, so they are all very good drivers. I don’t think I could drive a bus anywhere, much less on the tiny streets in the center of town!

The bus ride in the morning is a great time to listen to music or a morning news podcast, I like to watch the mountains and the sea to get ready for the day. In the afternoons, I listen to calm music to relax after a long day of teaching. I can’t fall asleep on the bus though—I have to get off at the right stop! If you get off at a different stop, you may have to pay a fine or buy another ticket.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

The bus is very important to people’s daily lives, just like mine!
