An Interview with Giorgia, Carol, and Max!

Introduction:

For this field note, I decided to chat with more than one student about their life in Italy. They answered different combinations of questions, and I've picked from their answers to give you the best idea of a kid's life in Italy!

Giorgia, Carol, and Max are all 16 years old and in their third year of high school, attending the same school and classes. They go to a humanities liceo [lee-chey-oh] (high school) which means they focus on things like language, philosophy and economics. I love teaching them, and it was very exciting to talk with them about their lives for this interview!

Here are some fun facts:

Giorgia loves to sing karaoke, and tells fantastic jokes. She won the Halloween game we played at school when she tricked everyone with a difficult clue! She lives in a little town called Monasterace Marina.

Max goes by Max or Massimo, since he grew up in Australia and moved to Italy when he was 10 years old. He lives in Siderno, close to the school. He loves to prank his friends, especially Giorgia.

Carol lives in Siderno too, and she was once part of a flash mob at school! She draws little cartoon versions of her classmates that are hung on the wall in their classroom.
