It is very pointy and long, almost like a long nose.
To get on the train, I got in a line with the other passengers and then boarded the train. There are often 15 or 16 train cars, which means the train is very long. In every train car, there are five seats, three on the left side and two on the right side. After finding my seat, I sat down and waited for the train to start moving.
When the train started moving, it did not seem like it was going so fast. I could get up and walk around the train and look out the windows. The only way I could tell the train was going 350 kilometers per hour (217 miles per hour) was by comparing it to cars driving outside. We passed them so quickly that it almost felt like they did not exist. There was a monitor inside the train telling me how fast we were going. I didn't believe I was going faster than a sports car!
The train ride was very comfortable. If I got hungry, I could go to a separate train car and order food, such as noodles or rice and meat and vegetables. I could also order tea, water or even ice cream! There is WiFi on the train, too, so I could watch movies or read on my phone to pass the time. It was so comfortable that I did not realize four whole hours had passed on the train. Very quickly, I had arrived at my final stop: Beijing.
Usually, the drive from Shanghai to Beijing takes 15 hours of non-stop driving, such as getting up early in the morning and driving the whole day until bedtime. Instead, because I took a high-speed train, I got there in four hours, and I got to eat ice cream and watch movies!
