Our News

So I've been listening to those songs, as well as some Uruguayan rock. Check out the band No te va gustar: they're really good!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I've been going to a zumba class twice a week, which is SO fun because the instructor is a great dancer and is very encouraging. We incorporate a lot of different dances into our exercise regime, including bachata (like the band Aventura) and cumbia

What did I read this week?:

I've been reading Isabel Allende's novel La casa de los espíritus in Spanish. It's a challenge, but I love it so far! I had enjoyed another Isabel Allende novel in a Spanish literature class in college, so I'm excited to keep reading this one.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

None... I'm not really a sports person, even though everybody here plays soccer!

Other news from this week:

Another fun thing I got to do last week was to visit the famous Termas del Daymán, the natural hot springs right outside of Salto. I took a 20-minute public bus ride to the park/ pool area, where you can buy a wristband for full-day access. It wasn't expensive, and there were so many pools, all at different temperatures. When the weather starts to get colder, which will happen in the next few months as winter approaches, I'm definitely going to go to the hot springs more often!
