Hi there! My name is Allison, I am 24 years old, and I am originally from Nashua, New Hampshire. I've dreamed of travelling the world and learning about different cultures since I was young, and I remember eagerly learning about history, geography, and literature in school. My passion for intercultural exchange and human connection influenced me to study political science for my undergraduate degree at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. During my junior year, I completed an exchange semester at Freie Universitaet Berlin in Berlin, Germany. For six months, I was able to connect with individuals from all over the world, learn a brand new language, and immerse myself in Berlin's fascinating history and culture! After this life-changing exchange semester, I knew my international adventures were far from over.
Upon graduating from Keene State College, I moved all the way to Belfast, Northern Ireland, to obtain my Master's degree in conflict transformation and social justice. I learned all about Northern Ireland's complex history of war and division between Protestants and Catholics, as well as the contemporary peacebuilding initiatives that aim to connect these communities. After graduating, I stayed in Belfast and worked for two years in roles related to human rights, social change, and community development.
I am now excited to be living and working in Luxembourg as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant! While in Luxembourg, I am excited to practice my French and German language skills, connect with different communities and cultures, and teach young adults about American history and culture. I look forward to sharing my journey with you!
