Our News

It is a mystery story set in a small town where a group of high school students try to crack the case! It was written by my friend Victoria, who is also a teacher here in the Czech Republic. It's so fun to be reading a book written by someone I know!

I am also part of a book club with some other Americans in the Czech Republic. Each week we read and watch a play and then we meet over FaceTime to talk about it. This week we read "Glengarry Glen Ross" by David Mamet which is about businessmen in Chicago. It has been very fun to keep in touch with friends this way!

My goal is to read 25 books this year (I have finished 7 so far), do you think I can do it?

What games or sports did I play this week?:

My main outdoor activity this week was hiking! Many of my students have also been ice skating in the park. They have a skating rink set up there for the whole winter, so I'll have to give it a try soon!

Other news from this week:

I am trying to learn to speak Czech, and my colleagues help me every day by helping me translate the lunch menu at school. Today was kuřecí (chicken) with brambory (potatoes).
