Hi everyone! As temperatures in Paris reach 90 degrees, and everyone is staying inside to try to stay cool, I am packing up to go back to Arizona, where I will be reveling in the air conditioning. I am so excited to see my family and friends (especially my cat!), and to finally have Walmart back. My mom and sister are coming to Paris tomorrow, so I am very excited to introduce them to my host family and share my life here in Paris. I will miss so many things about Paris: the metro system that took me anywhere I wanted within 30 minutes, the way there was always a new restaurant I wanted to try, my host mom's homemade cooking and, of course, the friends I made during my journey. There is nowhere else I would have rather studied abroad.
I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to live here during the spring through my university's exchange program. I hope that something I have shared sticks with you and you learn even a little bit more about this culture halfway across the world. I hope that my experiences have made you want to visit the world and learn about different cultures, maybe through an exchange program as well! I was lucky enough to receive funding for this exchange through the Gilman Scholarship, which provides students with financial need with a scholarship towards their educational goals.
