My university also offers many scholarships; all you have to do is ask!
There were a lot of challenging moments: many culture shocks, difficulty navigating the language barrier and just homesickness. However, by staying positive and taking everything one step at a time, Paris truly became my second home, and I have learned so much while here. It is always okay to be scared or nervous; that just means you have a lot more to learn! Regardless of whether you end up in university, make sure to take advantage of all resources available to you. If you study abroad, please consider the Gilman Scholarship and ask your university about other scholarships.
While in Paris, I visited 8 new countries, visited les petites villes (small towns) all over France, became more confident in my French, and tried so many new foods. School in France is difficult, but making it through gave me confidence in myself that I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Thank you, everyone, for being so attentive and asking so many questions. I loved sharing my daily life with you all. I was able to truly reflect on my journey because of all of you. I hope you one day visit France and fall in love with it as I did! Have an amazing summer: try to learn or experience something new! Enjoy the last few photos I was able to take of Piccolino, my host cat!
