Getting from One Place to Another in Ljubljana!

Introduction:

Every single place and culture around the world is faced with the same problem: how best to from one place to another. Transportation can take many different forms, including walking, bikes, motorbikes, cars, buses, boats, trains and even planes. Regardless of how people choose to get around, the way a culture uses transportation reflects both the environment they live in and some of the general ideals that the culture values, such as sustainability, speed or efficiency.

How do people get around?:

Ljubljana is a pretty small city, so it's not too hard to get from one place to another. The majority of people here walk, bike or use public transportation, though a few still commute to work in cars. You're able to walk from one end of the main city center to the othe in just around fifteen minutes, so if it's not too rainy or cold, the majority of people simply walk from place to place. In fact, the old town, which is the more historic area near the castle in the city center, only allows pedestrian travel. This means you're not even allowed to drive a car on most of those roads. This makes it much safer, quieter and more scenic for people walking around that area, which leads to a more enjoyable experience for those visiting the main sights of the city.
