There are some trees here and there in the city of Shenyang, but the park that I explored had an entire area of woods that I walked through. Shenyang has parks similar in size to Central Park in Manhattan and Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens!
The trees and other plants in parks are usually cared for by the staff of the park. Many of the plants are native to Shenyang, though, so they are adapted to live in this environment. The seasons change in Shenyang like they do in New York, so the plants here have evolved to survive the changing of the weather from hot to cold and back again.
The thing that would hurt these trees the most is if humans cut them down, but since the parks in Shenyang are cared for by humans, we're not worried about these spaces.
