I saw some goats, cows, sheep, dogs, cats and a tarantula!
I saw a pewen tree - also called the "Monkey Puzzle" tree. The Pewen tree is a living fossil, having existed for over 200 million years! Its tough, spiky leaves likely evolved to protect it from now-extinct herbivorous dinosaurs. Young trees grow in a symmetrical, conical shape, but as they age, they develop an umbrella-like canopy with widely spaced, twisting branches.
There is a large forest fire currently happening in the southern region of Chile called Araucanía. Thankfully it is far from me, but I am praying for all the people who live there!
