Hi Mr. McKerr’s fourth period class!

As you near the end of your high school journey and I near the end of my study abroad journey, I wanted to take some time to reflect on my experience abroad and share a few of the things I have learned while being here.

1. Trust the process.
It’s cliché, but it’s true! Everything has a way of working out for the better. One of the things I was most nervous about before studying abroad was not finding friends. Boy, was I wrong! I have been blessed with friendships that will last a lifetime. As you all begin your own journeys after high school, whether that’s college, the trades, the military, or something else, just know that things will work out the way they are meant to.

2. Take the leap.
Put yourself out there. Do things that make you uncomfortable. Say "yes" to new opportunities. Of course, do not do anything that puts you in danger, but push yourself to do the things you may be hesitant to try. Want to join a club? Go to that call-out meeting.
