Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week, I listened to my favorite artists, such as Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé. For one of my English classes this past week, we discussed the topic of feminism, in honor of International Women's Day. One of my students told me that when she hears the word "feminist," she thinks of the song "Flawless" by Beyoncé because in the song, there is a recording of a woman stating the defition of the word. So, to remind myself of this part in "Flawless," my class and I listened and jammed to the song together.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity I took part in this past week was watching a local ballet company's production of the ballet Don Quixote at the National Ballet and Opera House in Constanta.

What did I read this week?:

This past week, I read Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan on my train ride to Sinaia. I had read this book before, but it's one of my favorites, so I wanted to read it again. It is about a Chinese American professor Rachel Chu who falls in love with Nick Young, Singapore's richest and most eligible bachelor. Rachel travels to Singapore to meet Nick's family, but Rachel has no idea that Nick's family is incredibly wealthy. Drama ensues, but I'll stop here because I don't want to spoil the story for you!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I didn't play any games or sports this week, but I climbed up lots of stairs to reach the top of the Carol I Mosque to see a panoramic view of Constanta! Seriously, climbing up steps should be considered a sport...
