Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

Earlier this week, I took a day trip to see Peleș Castle in Sinaia, Romania. I traveled there by train, and after adding the distance from Constanta to Sinaia and back, I traveled 439.6 miles this week.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

From my hometown of San Francisco to here in Constanta, I have traveled 6,490 miles! But since then, I have traveled far more than that. I've been to Bucharest, (Romania), Brasov (Romania), Sofia (Bulgaria), Athens (Greece), Florence (Italy) Vienna (Austria), Barcelona (Spain), Valletta (Malta), Istanbul (Turkey) and Sinaia (Romania)... Add up the miles from Constanta to each of those cities and back, and you'll have the total number of miles I've traveled! Which is to say...hundreds!

How did I get around this week?:

Within Constanta, I got around using buses, taxis and my own two feet. The majority of public buses here look like the ones in the U.S.A. on the inside: there are both seats for passengers to sit and bars for people to stand next to and hold on to. However, some buses are more like minivans or shuttles. They're much smaller than regular buses, with only about five or six rows of seats.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I visited this week was Peleș Castle in Sinaia, Romania.
