Dear class,

Over the past three months, we have traveled far and wide together. We have trekked all over Romania and have explored four other countries: Portugal, Turkey, Germany and Malta. I’ve had a blast writing about my experiences for you, and I hope you’ve had just as much fun reading about them.

Let’s take a moment to recall some of the things we’ve learned together. We’ve learned about Romania’s different landscapes, from the Black Sea Coast where I live, to the towering Carpathian mountains in the north. We’ve learned about Romania’s springtime holiday Mărțișor, as well as the beautiful painted monasteries in Bucovina. We’ve also taken a step back in time to learn what life is like in a traditional Romanian village. What was your favorite experience to read and hear about? I am curious to hear more of your questions during our next video conference!

I want to encourage you all to search for opportunities to experience different cultures in your own city and neighborhood in New York. Traveling to a different country might seem scary, or it might seem like an impossible dream right now. But if you ever have the chance to explore another country, I hope you take it! Living in a different country is certainly challenging.
