Last week, we had one final heat wave. It was in the 80's and I wore shorts. Now, fall has officially arrived and I need my coat and scarf. There was a big rain storm over the weekend with high winds which caused some damage to train tracks. The damage done by the storm left many people temporarily stranded at train stations over the weekend. I was almost one of those people! More on that later.
I saw a lot of pigeons and dogs as well as a few cats and squirrels.
I went on a nature hike with one of my roommates and saw the city from a tall hill. My roommate does not speak much English or German, so we find other ways to hang out that do not depend on speaking. We took a path through the woods to a large hill. When we reached the top, we found a sign that told us the hill was created by humans seven years ago as a religious memorial. Seeing the tiny houses and people below was dizzying!
