We flew 805 miles from Mexico City to get here. Since then, we have traveled about 15 hours in the car or on a bus, which I'm estimating was close to another 800 miles!
This was the biggest trip of our time in Mexico so far. In total, I estimate we have traveled 3,000 miles in four months!
We used public buses and taxis for the first half of the trip and then rented a car for the second half.
We visited four different sites with Mayan ruins: Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum and Muyib. They were all different from each other and very beautiful, but I think my favorite had to be Tulum! The ruins are right along the coast, so the view of the temples of stone alongside the sandy beach and bright blue ocean is incredible.
