What main languages are spoken here?:

The official language of Spain is... you got it, Spanish! Another name peope use for Spanish where I am (Northwestern Spain) is Castellano because the region used to be called Castile. Spanish is a romance language. All romance languages derive from Latin. Two other languages spoken here are Euskadi (Vasco) in the community called País Vasco, and Catalan spoken in the community of Cataluña. Both regions have a long history fighting for independence because they believe they have a completely different culture from the rest of the country. Most of Spain, however, would prefer to stay united.

What type of money is used here?:

The currency here is the Euro. This type of money is special because, unlike most other currencies, it is used by more than one country. The 19 countries that use the Euro are called the Eurozone. The Euro is also different than the USD because it has pictures of monuments on bills, rather than people. Also, the 1 and 2€ notes are coins, not bills. The thing that I find most interesting about the Euro is that if a country is in economic trouble, the other countries in the Eurozone can help them out.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water here is worth 1€. The Euro is divided into 100 cents, like the US dollar, but it is worth more than a dollar.
