Traveler Bio

I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and attended Georgia Southern University, where I majored in Political Science and International Studies. During college, I participated in a French immersion study abroad program in Lyon, France, in the summer of 2018. After graduating, I applied to the Peace Corps in the summer of 2021 and was accepted to serve as a volunteer in Cambodia; however, I was ultimately denied medical clearance. Following this, I began working at the Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island, Georgia. While working at a bed and breakfast was not part of my original career plan, it provided me with the opportunity to live and work in one of the most beautiful and pristine places I had ever experienced.

At the beginning of 2024, I reapplied to the Peace Corps and was accepted to serve as an Agricultural Extension Volunteer in Ghana, beginning in January 2025.

During my service as a Peace Corps volunteer, I have discovered a strong passion for teaching. I initially began teaching creative arts and have since expanded to teaching Math, Science, and English. I work at the local primary school, teaching students ages 8 to 10 in Classes 4 and 5. I am currently focused on launching several projects within both the school and the broader community. Some of the initiatives I am interested in pursuing include mushroom farming, school renovations, the construction of household latrines, and completing the local market in my community. Additionally, I have already established a school garden with the junior high school students, which has become an exciting and productive starting point for hands-on learning.

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
