Getting Around Lyon!

Introduction:

Bonjour mes amis (hello my friends)! In the city of Lyon, France, there are many different ways people get around. There are buses, trains, bikes, cars and simple walking! Because I live in the center of the city, I normally walk wherever I need to go. I love to walk because it allows me to feel a part of the city. I can clearly see, smell and hear everything going on around me! However, some of my classmates live farther away from the University, so they take a bus to school every day.

How do people get around?:

In Lyon, there are many different ways to travel around the city. Most people take the bus or train to get to where they need to go. To ride either of these, people either buy a ticket for one trip or they buy a card that allows them to go on many trips.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

When I tried to take a bus, it was a bit difficult to buy my bus ticket. The ticket machine is only in French, and because I am not fluent yet, it took me a while to read the screen and buy the ticket! Once I was on the bus, it was very easy to listen to a voice on a speaker which told me in French and in English what each stop was. I was able to find my way and got off the bus at the right location!
